Brace yourselves for an overwhelming force of dark and unyielding music, as Welsh heavy metal juggernauts Tides Of Sulfur make their thunderous return with their latest full-length album, Apathy Chasm.
Released under the prestigious banner of APF Records on 29th September 2023, this new offering showcases the relentless power of this three-piece band, as they merge blackened sludge, black metal, death metal, and grind into an awe-inspiring sonic cataclysm.
Hailing from the depths of Wales, Tides Of Sulfur has risen through the ranks with their uncompromising sound and captivating live performances. Following the critically acclaimed EP Paralysis of Reason in 2019 and their bone-crushing album Extinction Curse" in 2016, Apathy Chasm marks a new era of darkness and intensity.
Apathy Chasm takes listeners on an emotional journey through the abyss of human consciousness. Channeling the darkest aspects of the human experience, the album explores themes of existential dread, inner turmoil, and the relentless search for meaning in an apathetic world. The band's seamless blend of blackened sludge, black metal, death metal, and grind creates a monstrous sound that is as unique as it is punishing.
The album's first single, Anxiety Veteran, was unleashed on the 27th of July, giving fans a taste of the sonic onslaught that awaits. With razor-sharp riffs, military precision drumming and guttural vocals, Anxiety Veteran serves as a powerful precursor to the aural devastation that awaits in Apathy Chasm.
Tides Of Sulfur, comprising Anthony O’Shea on guitar, Chris Bull on bass and vocals, and Tom Lee on drums, have honed their craft to perfection, delivering an album that pushes the boundaries of extreme music. With Apathy Chasm, the band aims to solidify their place among the heavyweights of the genre and continue their reign as one of Wales' most formidable metal acts.
Fans and newcomers alike should prepare for an auditory experience like no other when Apathy Chasm hits the shelves. This album is a testament to Tides Of Sulfur's unwavering dedication to their craft and their refusal to shy away from exploring the darkest recesses of the human psyche.

I'm compelled to repeat my actions of listening to this devastating album and cause all kinds of damage. Crushing sounds of sludgy doom creating an atmosphere of total destruction, Beggar RULES!!!🤘 Darknight
Hypnotic Aztec sludge, fresh from the savage, sweltering jungles of (checks notes) Sheffield...
Seriously, this is excellent. Highly recommended. rogerwinchester
